Xeno vs keymo. Things To Know About Xeno vs keymo.

Hi, I’ve been waiting patiently for someone to make one. Im hoping that I’m not alone. I was told that there wasn’t currently enough demand so it hasn’t been a priority. I’m just here to spread awareness of the Dead Air Xeno suppressor mounting system. It’s a great system. Much lighter and less expensive than Keymo.1215KM (1/2 x 28)is our latest offering in the Dead Air sound suppressor mounts line. Threaded for 1/2 x 28, 1215KM is a Keymo compatible brake, compatible with all Dead Air 223 caliber sound suppressors. We don't like brakes for 223 ARs, they're loud and obnoxious, and it's our opinion an AR has low enough recoil, a brake is wholly unnecessary. The Sierra 5 Xeno includes a 1/2-28 Xeno flash hider and a Xeno adapter. Are you talking about the mount that screws into the back of the suppressors, or the muzzle devices on the barrels? If you’re referring to the KeyMo mount itself, from the point it touches the back of the can, to the rearmost measurement, it adds roughly 1-1/8” to 1-3/16” to the length of the suppressor. T.

If you're opening Pandora's box and considering mounts outside Xeno and Keymo, I'd go Plan A (Griffin). I think it is the most comprehensive system in terms of supported calibers, supported thread pitches, muzzle device styles, adaptor/mount lengths, etc. Tends to be reasonably priced and readily available. The Keymo adaptor is pricy, around $230 and the muzzle devices are not cheap either at around $90 for a flash hider or muzzle brake. BUT cheap always what you should be looking for when looking at a QD mount. I recently had an issue with a keymo flash hider, called dead air and they sent out a new on as soon as they had it in-stock.

From my understanding keymicro is only a 1/4 turn vs regular keymo is 3/4 turn. At least all my keymicros have been this way. It's designed to lock up quicker. ... In most cases a good flash hider is fine, the stellite blast baffle on the Omega is quite durable. Keymo sells because of good PR and an army of gumbies talked it up, bought it up, and DA sells a shit ton of cans creating aftermarket support to meet demand when Dead Air can't.I personally prefer the rearden muzzle devices over the keymo stuff. Keymo is heavy and the rearden parts look closer to the original designs. Not a fan of Keymo, its heavy, long, and expensive. Rearden/Plan B mounts are becoming very popular for a reason, tons of options with both mounts and muzzle devices, much more affordable, low profile ...Dead Air - XENO Dead Air - Keymo Q LLC - Quickie / Plan-B Griffin Armament - Dual-LOK Griffin Armament - Taper Mount YHM - SRX YHM - Phantom QD Rugged - Dual Taper Lock SiCO - ASR AAC - 51T Ratchet Both Dead Air systems and the Q system have aftermarket / other companies making compatible devices.

I quickly figured out the keymo doubled the weight of the turbo k and I didn't swap the cans around that much. I built a 14.5" p/w and went to Xeno on the turbo k and ended up having the same overall length and lost a couple ounces between the two uppers. I kept the keymo on the R2 and swap it between the larger calibers (6.5mm, 7.62 etc)360HD KeyMount / KeyMicro. 4C KeyMount. Blast Shield KeyMo. GFH KeyMount / KeyMicro. It ends up being the same weight and length as a Sandman but without the bomb proof internals. I would switch to Xeno, YHM Kurz, or Griffin Plan A. KeyMo on a Nomad L looks retarded and adds a lot of length and weight. Go Plan A or Plan B, don’t go Plan A if you ... Mount = muzzle device; this is the part of the firearm the suppressor attaches (mounts) to. Adapter = the male part with 1.375x24 threads that threads into the can; this adapts the can to mount on your muzzle device (mount) of choice. Ex. Plan A adapter, Plan B adapter, Xeno adapter, etc.I was debating between the two while my Sierra 5 was in jail. I was leaning Xeno because it's shorter, lighter, simpler and less expensive than Keymo. You could argue it's more durable too. The reverse threads, threads behind the taper, and plently of room for tools all made sense to me.Among this week's best deals and bargains are Ralph Lauren shoes, a high-end Smart TV deal, and a big sale on glass tiles. Keymo is the way. It adds a smidge bit of weight, just get stronger. The only other QD I would consider is the Xeno mount. The LH taper thread is a great design. This may be a less than favorable opinion but I am not a fan of the Surefire mount simply because it gets stuck.I like it better than keymo as far as I can tell in playing with it in the comfort of my living room. Once I get the other suppressor I'll run it and see how it works long term. 07-28-22, 12:41 #5. Eurodriver. Ditching Keymo, rearden vs asr. Decided to ditch my Keymo mostly because of weight and having it worked loose a few times (yes I’ve tightened it down). Keymo can also be a pain to remove. Host rifle will be either a 223 16” or 20” ar10 and stuck between a rearden or asr. Main concern is having some kind of extra lock so it doesn’t come ...6315KM is the Dead Air sound suppressor Keymo mount of our 6315 (1/2×28) flash suppressor, compatible with .223 Dead Air sound suppressors with Keymo interface. Forward Controls Design is a big fan of the A2 flash hider/compensator. It is inexpensive, and does a decent job of what’s asked of it.The KeyMo mount is a solid, one-handed, mechanical ratchet-style attachment system, in contrast, the Xeno mount uses a simple left-hand thread and tapered surface attachment system. Additionally, the Sierra 5 with Xeno mount is slightly shorter in length at 5.72" compared to the KeyMo mount version which is 6.27".The Hansohn Blast Diverter is designed to lessen the blast from a firearm when not using a silencer. Our blast diverter accepts all 1.375×24 HUB mounting solutions such as the Dead Air KeyMo and Xeno, Rearden Atlas, Rex Silentium and YHM adapters among others. Made from stainless steel and black Nitride coated to ensure a lifetime of service. The suppressor’s variants include the Sierra-5 Xeno and Sierra-5 KeyMo. As the name implies, each ships with the respective flash hider mount and adaptor. The larger size of the KeyMo adaptor is what makes that version about a half-inch longer than the Xeno model, but both feature the same minimalist profile and tube diameter. The Dead Air Xeno shares similar design features to the Q Cherry Bomb. If done correctly, that means the thread before the taper will adequately secure the muzzle device to the silencer, while also preventing any fouling from reaching the threads and carbon locking the silencer to the muzzle. 3. Reply. doctor_iggy. KeyMo is supposed to be sightly more idiot-proof. Plus I'd argue the KeyMo flash hider looks less stupid than the ASR hider. But obviously you need to buy a separate adapter for the rifle and the can itself, I can't imagine SiCo will ever sell a can that comes with a competitor's hardware. 4. Reply.

KeyMo is longer, somewhat heavier, but gives a quicker and more positive lockup. Additionally, ASR has gotten stuck on me when hot before, and I’ve had to wait on cooling before I could break it loose. This is not a problem I’ve had with KeyMo. Griffin Plan A. Shorter, lighter, and cheaper than both.

It ships in its direct-thread configuration with 5/8-24 threads. The Nomad series brings plenty of versatility. If you are already a fan of the Dead Air muzzle devices, you'll be happy to know the Nomad L is KeyMo and Xeno compatible. That means your Nomad L can have the same robust and proven attachment method as our Sandman models, giving ...

The Xeno Flash Hider gives you a lightweight suppressor mounting option with non-negotiable repeatability and a solid return to zero — ideal for precision-minded shooters. Don't worry, the Xeno Mount System still provides you ...Xeno will be shorter/lighter but not a true QD. Keymo is longer/heavier but faster, true QD. Personally, I wouldn't have any use for Keymo. Xeno makes sense on precision rifles. I prefer Plan A/Plan B for most use cases, though. Saving length/weight is top of my QFD. 3.On a side note, I'd like to just have the booster permanently on a Ghost M for pistols only and put either a Xeno mount or KeyMo mount for rifles which is really what the Primal is for. The Primal is a long suppressor. When you add a mount, it gets longer. While the Wolfman can be about the same length, I usually run it in the short configuration.Don't do it. If you're planning on using the Omega on the Scar, stick with the ASR. I converted mine to KeyMo and the added length and weight nullifies all the benefits of the Omega, which is short and light weight. I also wanted to use the same Mounting system across the board, and have a Sandman K in jail. There is only one reason I'd choose keymo over plan B. The plan B is just so much lighter and shorter, its awesome for guns you actually fire standing or moving with a can. That reason is usage when not suppressed. The cherry bomb is a useless muzzle device outside of a can. The keymo brakes and flash hiders on the other hand, are good muzzle ...See KeyMount Fitment Guide for more info. DAS DA428. I run a Nomad-L on my 308 Sig Cross but ended up going w/ Xeno rather than Keymo (have both). Prefer the shorter OAL & less weight of Xeno for a bolt gun.Xeno solves all of this, but it's cool hate dead air on reddit so take that for what its worth. KeyMo doesn't have to be heavy. It's been lightened up over the years a little and people are usually adding up the heaviest brake with the adapter when they're worried about a couple ounces.

KeyMo combo from what I can tell is about 8.70 oz / 246.6g SiCo ASR Bravo w/ FH is 7.69 oz / 218g Griffin A2 is 7.04 oz / 199.6 g DA Xeno is 5.30 oz / 148 g Lightest combo I could find is Atlas Bravo Titanium w/ Rearden Mini at 2.65 oz combined or 75 g. Weight is one thing, the other is length, and finally the quality of the manufacturing. I'm a Xeno user, my brother has Keymo. No baffle strikes for either one of us but maybe we aren't trying hard enough. I like the weight savings and deadnuts simplicity of the spin-it-on-hand-tight of Xeno vs Keymo. Rearden has more thread pitch and brake/hider options and seems to be a fan favorite. I just prefer the left hand threads of Xeno.Based off specs online, it looks like if at least .1" of the muzzle device sticks out past the Keymo, then you will have space. The Keymo brake is 2.6" and the blast chamber depth is 1.4". Keymo adds around 1.1", so as long as the muzzle device flats stick out more than 0.1" behind the back of keymo, I think it will fit.Instagram:https://instagram. manson murder crime scenehumana otc centerwellmohave county gis public map viewerflagstaff pow wow 2023 Firearm Discussion and Resources from AR-15, AK-47, Handguns and more!
