Ruger security 9 slide stuck.
My Security 9 has had four FTEs across approximately 310 rounds since new. The first two were classic stovepipes and easily cleared. The last two were very odd in that the spent casing stayed in the barrel’s chamber requiring me to use a small wooden dowel to pry the casing out; not good for a home defense/carry gun!
It’s pretty obvious why the feed ramp needs to be a smooth, polished surface. The nose of the bullet must slide over and through this concave surface to enter the chamber. If the surface is too rough or is nicked or burred, the bullet can get stuck. However, it’s less apparent why the bolt face needs to be smooth. Suggested Retail$529.00. Dec 19, 2023 · Long story short, if you pull the trigger on a Security 9 Compact with the slide and barrel off, the hammer might go down and stick. This being my first pistol I didn't know, I'd recently taken down a Glock and you had to pull that trigger. The same thing happened to me with a Stoeger shotgun, but neither owners manual mentions this.

I then can push the slide forward the rest of the way. Like I said, it doesn't affect live firing, but the P89 I owned in the past wouldn't get stuck out of battery when doing this, so I wonder how normal this is.I had an slide QC issue years ago when the original LC 9 was introduced. Then Push the slide forward while dry firing it a number of times. This should work. Also do the same procedure with a mag in. Keep trying this and it should release. This is a common issue.
