Mar 4, 2011 · 502 MPI upgrade results. I just got this off the dyno a couple days ago and think this is a great little package for the 502. The cam is from Bob Madara, the tune is from Mark Boos. Young Performance. Are you referring to the 454 Mag MPI (385 hp) vs the 7.4 Mpi (310hp)? If so, the mag motor is a 4 bolt block with all forged bottom end and rectangle port heads. That clutch drum and some of the associated parts are from a Ford FMX trans. Those are the clutch plates you'll need. There is no specific forward gear. The clutches lock up to give you forward. If I bought the boat, the engines would come out. I would install fuel injection because its easy to find for a small block. While the engines are out, I'd re-rig it. I found an 86 28ss in December for $10K and my best friend bought it.
