Here is a photo of my steer horn clamps. They came in both the wide base and narrow base to accommodate the different sized widths of the early Newhouse bear traps. Mine are all the wider versions. The third #6 clamp from the left, if you look close, was a narrow version but had been converted over most likely at the factory.

Trap chains are one thing that get changed a lot by trappers and Newhouse traps were sold without chains and the trapper would attach his own chain. These traps were still equipped with a swivel for adding the chain.
