Try disconnecting the main power cable for the relay instead. The relay will still work. Just no longer supply power to the grid heater. I see no sensors for the grid heater circuit. Keep a test light in the truck with you & when it comes on see if the grid solenoid is getting power. It should have power to one side but not to the grid itself. It is smoking and hot to the touch (on the brass post and overall). I did air intake heater delete and did some kind of wire with a resistor and stuff but this is kinda scary.

Got a grid heater delete and i have a code stored in the ECM but no check engine light. 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport - Stock with Edge CTS, Fass, and BD enhanced 47RE with triple disc converter. The only way I can get it to start is by planting a 100W light bulb on the air intake heater housing for 1-2 hours.
