Heritage rough rider issues.
I much prefer the Ruger. I can't really comment on accuracy because I am not a good enough shot with them to tell a difference. The fit and finish of the Ruger is much better. Some would argue the ugly safety on the RR is a deal breaker. I am wanting a Tx22 myself but I would still pickup a Wrangler if I didn't have it.

It won't do 50,000 rnds like a Ruger Single Six would, but it'll do several thousand. Don't dry fire it, w/ or w/o the safety on. You'll break the safety or peen the cylinders. The Ruger Wrangler is likely the better buy for 30% more.

This problem also occurs on the normal 22lr cylinders too. I recently purchased a 9 shot Rough Rider. It has the same issue. I'd imagine a decent gun smith could do some grinding work on the cylinder to get it to function properly.

Probably the lifter arm inside isn't doing it's job or the spring is broken. Just had it all apart, the hand's little leaf spring is intact and it seems to function correctly with the cylinder removed. Perhaps it's out of spec and a new one could fix it. The problem lies with the 22 WMR cylinder. Sometimes after 3-4 rounds it locks up and won’t advance the cylinder. Almost like a case is hanging up. So far it’s happened mainly with CCI Maxi Mags and I noticed 3-4 of them had cases split/ruptured at the strike point.
The Heritage Rough Rider is a good single action revolver. I've shot over 3000 rounds through mine with not one hiccup. It is fairly accurate, mechanically sound and very affordable.
