A week ago I got service shifter message for 2 seconds and then it went away. Tonight at a red light check engine light came on, service shifter, park sense off and traction control all kept going on and off and the my car was in gear 3 at a dead stop and idle, and I could feel it shifting gears constantly, and shifting in/out hard.

This shifter has been the source of discussion a couple of times among the members. Nobody seems to understand why they went to that shifter and most really don't like it at all. One member even traded his 2015 Ram for a 2013 with a column shifter after he had trouble with the knob shifter. I don't recall what kind of issue he had with the knob.Once it is out of Park, release the parking brake and let the truck roll a bit, and then re-apply the parking brake. Now you can release the lever to allow the transmission to go back to Park. Try this and see if it helps, if it does not, then you should be still covered for a warranty repair. .
