Hi! So I am so over the litter robot 3 pinch detector. It caused me so many problems. I watched a million youtube videos and tried a million different hacks. I finally ordered a completely new pinch detector and DFI kit. I changed it all out, it was working great for about a month. Now these past few days I am back to seeing the pinch detector ...

When it cycles, the globe rotates counter-clockwise until the hall sensor detects the magnet on the globe. It then stops, like it should. But the thing I hate most are the sensors. Specifically the pinch sensor and bonnet sensor.Empty the Litter-Robot waste drawer. Ensure the waste drawer liner is properly installed and tucked into all 4 tabs. Perform a hard reset after emptying the waste drawer: Unplug Litter-Robot for 10 seconds and replug. Thoroughly clean the Drawer Full Indicator (DFI) with a dry cloth or cotton swab. Check for signs of corrosion.Litter-Robot is equipped with anti-pinch sensors on both sides of the waste drawer chute to ensure your cat’s safety while in use. These sensors monitor for potential pinch conditions at all times. If your unit displays a green and white alternating light bar, this indicates an anti-pinch fault during power up.

This new one has been sent to the “shop” where they found nothing wrong with it, it pinches every cycle, always says it’s full, rotates the wrong direction, over torque faults, dump position faults. You name it it has faulted ..."Full disassemble" is taking off the bonnet, taking out the globe (dumping the litter), taking out the bottom tray. Spray down and scrub inside the globe. The base gets scrubbed, particularly the pinch detector! Wipe down the outside of the globe and the bonnet, scrub anywhere that got some litter on it.
Within 2 weeks I started getting false full errors, and then today it has failed due to the pinch detect fault. I've spent hours watching self repair videos, cleaned the sensors, cleared the pinch detectors, and after 2 cycles it is back to pinch default errors. They over engineered this thing to have sensitive parts exposed to corrosion.
The filter works very well and in either instance couldn't detect odors at all. It's important to keep an eye on it via the Whisker app. It connects to your robot, offers to nickname the machine (turd burglar), offers to send you notifications every time your kitty goes potty, to let you know of any errors immediately.Hi there, we would be happy to help you.
