Before at least USMDs could safely match anesthesiology, radiology, general surgery (to a lesser extent). Seems like that’s changing. Maybe anesthesia was easy to get in, but Surgery and radiology have been pretty competitive the past few years. Surgery match rates for USMDs have always hovered in the low-mid 80s.
