(Based on Link having full hearts at the beginning of the game) But one thing that's weird is how certain returning NPCs don't recognize Link. At all.

Apr 29, 2023 · Zelda games were always designed gameplay first story second, but the stories at least were enjoyable. This is probably honestly the worst story in 3D Zelda, it just doesn't leave a good taste in the mouth, and I think this is because it's a direct sequel that presses reset, while gameplay wise it's VERY clear you're playing the sequel.

Just remember that Zelda is never older than 16. In the Oracle duology, Link is probably like 13 or 14, at the oldest. Din and Nayru are both clearly taller than the kid, who definitely is still growing. If we accept the Hyrule Historia timeline, that means that Link was even younger in A Link to the Past.

It reminds me of the Majora forms at the end of MM. Same sort of creepy-crazy music and mobility. The sludge it spews everywhere summons those massive Gyorg-like sharks, too. But A Link Between Worlds is the best 2D Zelda. It has the best dungeons, best controls and best music. It’s a little easy, due to the rental system, but it’s a necessary evil for the non-linearity.
