If you bypass it you run the risk of it coming apart and the parts bouncing around inside your engine. It's just a plastic gear with some counter weights. Ungoverned it will be spinning about twice as fast as it's design. Don’t bypass. You will inevitably grenade the governor gear.This setup helps to keep it simple and reliable.
