Verizon can make calls but not receive.

It's not your phone it's Verizon. Happened to all 3 of our Verizon phones. It's from the mucking around with getting rid of 3g. I can make and receive calls on it as well as texts. Most texts and calls actually go to my Verizon line. Only texts and calls that go to my ATT line are those from ATT customers.
