Dan Bebak was first introduced to Mote Marine Laboratory in 1980 by a friend and nearby resident. After interning at the Laboratory for four years he was hired in 1985. In 2013 Aquarium, Education and Community Outreach divisions were integrated into a new division with a total annual budget of over seven million dollars and a staff of 70.
