The Benelli M4 is a great shotgun but it’s heavier than the 1301. Then depending on the set up you’re going to spend additional money to tweak it to fit your needs. Dec 23, 2022 · Have a 1301 and it makes shooting so much easier than using the Moss 500. The double is easier on my shoulder but the 1301 gives more rounds before a reload. Arthritis has made a pump hurt racking the slide, also fast arm movement to draw a pistol hurts. A 1301 cross slung seems to cause the smallest amount of discomfort. The 1301 is much lighter, which can be plus for certain uses, but home defense isn’t one of them. It’s also quite a bit cheaper, locally the 1301 is $1100 and the M4 is $1800, if money is at all a concern get the 1301, it’s an amazing gun.
