I get this every winter. Remote start will work fine, then some random time it decides not to. Then it gives remote start disabled every time, even mild temperatures like minus 4 C. Disconnecting the battery for a while then reconnecting gets it to start working fine again. So I'd say it's a computer problem as opposed to a mechanical problem.
