To determine if aerated fuel is causing starting difficulty, perform the following steps: ‪. Disconnect the fuel line return hose from the fitting located at the fuel tank; refer to OEM guidelines. Place the opened end of the fuel line into a suitable container. Start the engine. Run the engine at 1000 r/min.Torque the six bolts on the exhaust manifold side of the engine to 55 N·m (40 lb·ft). Repeat the tightening sequence and re-torque all bolts to 136 N·m (100 lb·ft). Check the torque to 136 N·m (100 lb·ft). Secure injector wire harness to each of the six Jake Brake spacer bars with tie straps.Batteries are the usual problem in this case. Even if your voltmeter says things are ok when your cranking your starter is spiking your truck voltage down and your DDEC is shutting off or at best not able to provide enough voltage to fire the injectors. As soon as you release the starter voltage comes back up and turns the DDEC back on.I have a 97 FLD 120 with a series 60 engine. As soon as I start the truck the fan comes on and stays on, cant seem to figure out what might be causing it. just replaced the bearing in the fan clutch. i check for an air leak. please help....
