Rotate the spindle to seat fully into cavity. From the outside of the storm door, insert spindle through the spring and guide the spindle through the top center hole of the back plate and drilled holes. Press pushbutton to extend spindle and guide into the slot in the inside latch. Attach using #8-32 x 1 1/4” machine screws.
Work from side of the door that is weather-stripped. Use a 6 foot level and plumb the hinge side jamb both ways (right to left and inside to outside). Place screws through the hinge side jamb into the studs, at each remaining hinge location, as shown in the diagrams.
