Park pawl cable moves back and fourth fine. Doesn't the park pawl keep the tractor from rolling when the tractor is off or in park. I think the problem is that a clutch pack still is getting oil when in park thus making the tractor move in park. when the tractor is in park the gear selector valve it out all the way. D.A hydro will run circles around any other kind of transmission if your primary use is PTO work - mowing, blowing snow, tilling, etc. If you are into heavy tillage, then you want a gear transmission with a shuttle. Or if all you are doing is dirt work (dig and carry cycles) then it is even money - hydro vs shuttle.

The original subject was "Re: Ford 555 Shuttle Shift problem". I picked up a ford 555 backhoe with the shuttle shift on the column. It won't go into forward or reverse. Old owner stated it would go into both and them slowly got to the point were it won't do anything. Runs greats , and all hydraulics are strong.
