I only had the black screen problem and followed the steps from their FAQ. Closed the launcher, set the PGR.exe to run at Win8 compatibility mode using admin permit. And it worked fine afterwards. Can't tell about the checking files issue, it's also mentioned in their FAQ. Hope you can get your PC-client running soon! Ahhh, so why we have to wait so long for the client.
