The UIM is leaking coolant and I know the LIM gasket was leaking oil due to a clogged cat. So I figure it is time to replace both. What other goodies do you guys recomment besides the gasket ...

I just had the lower intake gaskets replaced on my 2004 Monte Carlo SS with the supercharged 3800. I also had the two plastic elbows replaced as well as the gasket under the supercharger. I supplied the upgraded intake gaskets, plastic elbows, valve cover gaskets, oil and filter. The mechanic bought the gasket under the supercharger.
That would explain coolant in your oil. I wouldnt drive this thing until its fixed. so order a new upper intake manifold gasket, new valve cover gaskets, new fuel injector o-rings. Drain coolant/flush system and refill with new. When you finish installing all the gaskets and have everything together, drain the oil, and refill with new.
Dunno if that's normal, but I don't think it is. I'm, going to take a straight edge to the LIM and the cylinder heads tomorrow, and by wednesday, hopefully, I'll be finished up. I'd do it in a day or so but I have to work. :icon_cry: I'm going back with the metal LIM gaskets. I pulled the lower plenum and am changing the gaskets, cleaned the LIM. the mating faces on the LIM and head aren't pitted or corroded.

What I have is a P0507 (RPM too high...intake leak) and have ton of oil in the upper intake manifold. So much oil that it's causes car to blow blue smoke for a minute or two when first start it up. You really dont need them, but they make the job kind of easier. They are call come alongs or tow straps. You can always take off the dog bones then while in park rock the car back and fourth until the engine rocks forward then hit the ebrake. That will lock it in place until you release the ebrake.
