Library, is pleased to announce the winners of the 31stAnnual Scary Story Contest. Budding writers, from second grade to adult, were invited to enter the creative writing contest. Mysterious, suspenseful or humorous scary tales of a non-violent nature were judged by the Friends of the Library. Entries were judged forPrizes. Our independent panels of Judges will award the following prizes, on or after November 1 of 2023: 2 Grand Prizes of $500 for grand winners of Fiction and Non-Fiction. 1 Grand Prize of $250 for Poetry. 1st prize for each qualifying category – $50 cash prize, plus double royalties for their published submission. I was so bummed when I posted it on Jezebel's last post yesterday, only to discover hours later, all the comments were gone. I actually made this list last week before I knew Jezebel was shutting down. I wanted to read my favorites in one place. Unfortunately, I haven't found an active Jezebel subreddit.
