I recently had the EPS light come on my 2008 Elantra and the power steering went out. After restarting the car it resumed as normal. I took it to my mechanic who found codes correlating to a possible recall/extended warranty related to the EPS. At their advice, I took the car to a Hyundai dealer to look at.
