The only problem I found was in the southern Calif. winters the engine would have a hard time coming up to operating temp. Ran about 190/200 and on 10/40 it runs 210/ 220*.I agree if you are using synthetic then 8000 is ok but for regular oil i would change it every 3 to 5k miles. but you cant overchange it. so more is better:choppersm . This can be caused by various things including low oil level, failed oil pump, blocked oil passages and a failed oil pressure sensor.
