Other reviewers have mistakenly reported the difference is 1/4" or more. The mere 10 fps increase in 5-shot average muzzle velocity of the G41 over the G21 was an eye opener for me.

Before I bought my G30sf I too was looking at some of the compact 1911. Bottom line it is hard to beat the mag capacity (10+1), light weight in this small of a package anywhere. The holster makes all the difference in the world. I carry my G30sf with an IWB holster made by Eric at Barber Leatherworks.

I prefer the G30s. Never cared for the G36 due to lack of 10+1 rounds. I tried the G36, i didnt like the sharper felt recoil due to a narrower grip. And with the G36, (as far as i know of) your stuck with the mags that it comes with. The G30 & G30s you can swap to higher cap mags.
