It is true that Vortex had issues with BG3 (emphasis on the past tense here) - because it could not properly operate on the game's modsettings file. This is no longer the case since (I believe) end of November.
But: something tells me you are not ready to mod the game. Modding is not about slapping that "install" button and forgetting about it. It's about reading, understanding, trying and more reading, reading, reading. Don't expect people to have solutions for you - you need to be able to troubleshoot it yourself and fix stuff where possible.
