I have personally always used sturgians as my infantry back bone i'm on beta 1.5.4 so now we have heavy axeman/spearman (they changed up the last few troops) I have always used a combo of sturgians, battanian hero, and vlandia cavalry I mainly like them due to their shields, makes the best/easiest protection against archers …

Pros of Aserai Veteran Infantry: Tier 5 they switch from falx to romphalia which sucks. Stay at tier 4 tho and they are one of, if not THE best infantry unit in the game. Aserai infantry is a dark horse pick. Insane armor, good shields, and throwing weapons. However, their swords make them atrocious in melee against top tier units. Low tiers they fare very well, due to their insane armor preventing them from taking much damage or any stagger, which prevents them from attacking.
