Hello there. Gemini is the newest DIRECTV device that implements satellite functionality on the Android TV platform. The device looks like the DIRECTV STREAM Device and uses the same remote control. You cannot use a Gemini by itself because it can't receive DIRECTV programming or respond to DVR commands without being connected to the Genie/Genie 2.
