If the used PPTO equals or exceeds missed time the system will not even give the option to unapproved the absence. What ppto doesn’t cover is a no-call. The only time ppto doesn’t auto clear an occurrence is if the time missed is still below 10 minutes, those are to be manually approved as per the Management supplement to the PPTO policy.
