I removed carb. It was filthy inside. I thoroughly cleaned everything including gas tank and reinstalled carb. Much to my surprise it started instantly!2002 Eiger 400 carb problems. i picked up this quad that hadn't been run in 3 yrs. The oil had gas in it. the air cleaner element had gas in it - although mostly varnish after 3 yrs. Took carb apart and thought i cleaned every bit of it? changed the oil, filter, air cleaner and plug and cleaned the petcock and fired it up.eiger carb trouble I am in need of some help. Hi Don, a backfire through the carb can only be caused by a serious misadjustment in timing. it would take the timing being out by about 180 degrees for this to happen. a "cough" out of the carb is a classic symptom of a lean air/fuel mixture. a lean mis-fire. if this is the classic lean mis-fire, as I suspect, and the jets have not ...My 2002 Suzuki eiger 400 was not running right and would not rev up when you hit the gas.
