I am prior service looking to retrain and my career advisor told me that all 1D7 jobs require the EDPT now. However, I was told by someone else that they rescinded the EDPT requirement for all 1D7 shreds, except for programmers.

Q is base (enterprise) comm, specialties are designated through a different shred as a 3 lvl, and graduate to Q as a 5 lvl with the old specialties left behind as SEIs. They maintain a Teams channel for AFRC with an Oppurtunities channel that posts all current open jobs within A6. With your experience you should be able to move into any 1D7 job not just the B shred. In addition, I would look into possible commission spots while you are at it. Might have to transfer to reserve first, but it's doable. Good luck. 1.

The 1D7 career field is documented in the AFECD (Air Force Enlisted Classifications Directory) since October 2020, however, the career field is not on the accession plan for fiscal year 2021 (October 2020 - September 2021).
