It's entirely dependent on when EA decides to pull the plug or not, based off of how many players there are. Costs money to keep the servers online after all. The servers could go for another 10 years, or for 2 more years.

Yes, but expect to come up against the same sorts guys, especially in GA and Supremacy. Lots of max and super high level folks who will sweat but also a few level 1-15 players. Very much still alive. Trust me, tons of people still play this game, only some game modes give you trouble when finding a match.

It is active on steam, though it may be difficult to find a game at certain time slots (notably afternoon in eastern US). I have a lot of fun in online play even though it's laggy sometimes.
